GUWAHATI, Dec 17 - The BJP along with its allies will win over 100 seats in the ensuing Assembly elections in the State, the saffron party�s in-charge for Assam Baijayant Jay Panda claimed here today.
Addressing the media here today, Panda said people of the State supports the development agenda of the BJP-led government. �After reviewing the present political situation, I am confident that in 2021 the BJP and its alliance partners will win more than 100 seats. The result of recently concluded BTC polls reflected the strength of BJP at grassroots level,� he said.
Panda said formation of a number of regional parties will not have any bearing on BJP�s performance in the polls. �Formation of such parties is a normal thing. It is a result of regional aspiration of people. But as a national party, it is the duty of BJP to emphasize on both regional and national aspirations,� he said.
Panda said that BJP has always maintained internal democracy and party ticket will be given to only to the deserving candidates.
Commenting on the ongoing farmers� protest, Panda said that some political parties and leaders are misleading the people.
Panda said he had meetings with different State-level cells and committees of the party and also discussed issues pertaining to the ensuing polls with the Chief Minister, Finance Minister and the party state president.
