GUWAHATI, July 28 - Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi on Monday accused the BJP and the AIUDF of having a tacit understanding.
Addressing a press conference at the State Secretariat, Gogoi said that the good relations between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and AIUDF leader Badruddin Ajmal is well known and is of bada bhai-chota bhai nature. Both the BJP and the AIUDF criticize us, but they refrain from attacking each other. As both the BJP and AIUDF are communal parties, their relations are good. We oppose their communal agenda, he said.
Accusing the BJP of being a party lacking principles, Gogoi said the saffron party discarded its ideals and tied up with the PDP in Jammu & Kashmir for the sake of power. It will do anything for the sake of power. It proves that the BJP has no principles, he said.
He also accused the NDA regime in New Delhi of depriving Assam by reducing budgetary support for various central schemes and discontinuing others. He said Assam will lose over Rs 9,000 crore this fiscal on account of that.
