Biswanath readies for monsoon deluge

BISWANATH CHARIALI, May 26 � Government departments under the Biswanath subdivisional administration have geared up to tackle the ensuing monsoon season. A meeting was held in this respect recently at the conference hall of the office of the SDO (Civil). SDO Pallav Gopal Jha has issued instructions to the departments of Water Resources, PWD, Food and Civil Supplies, PHE, Panchayat, Forest, Agriculture, Veterinary and the police as well.

In the meeting, issues related to natural disasters caused by heavy rainfall and rescue and relief operations and the implementation of preventive measures were also discussed. A control room will be set up by the Water Resources department which will also regularly monitor the water level of the Brahmaputra river. Moreover, the Panpur-Biswanath embankment will be kept under vigil and a daily report will be submitted to the Circle Office.
