Bishnu-Jyoti theatre fest from January 23

BARPETA, Jan 21 - The fourth Bishnu-Jyoti Theatre Festival organised by �Mukha�, a prominent amateur theatre group of Barpeta, will be held with a four-day long programme from January 23-26 at the District Library auditorium here.

The festival will be formally inaugurated at 5.30 pm on January 23 by renowned actress Urmila Mahanta. �Ba Guwahati� will perform Padmapriya just after the inaugural function. �Kathia Duliajan� will stage a play Jeevan Anamika that night.

Senapati Aru Sainik by �Natmandal Pathshala� and Takshashila by �Mancha Sarupeta� will be performed on January 24 evening. Two plays � one by �Anushilan� and the other by �Wings� are scheduled to be performed on January 25, the third day of the festival.

The festival will come to an end with the performance of Bhogjara by �Mukha� on January 26. Dhanjit Choudhury, manager of the theatre festival and Nirmal Das, secretary of �Mukha� informed that the programme each day will begin sharp at 5.30 pm. They also requested the theatre lovers of the State to cooperate in making the festival a roaring success.
