GUWAHATI, April 23 - The Dr T Ao Birth Centenary Celebration Committee will organise various events from October to January at Kaliabor, Mokokchung, Kohima and Guwahati along with other places in order to mark the birth centenary of India�s first football captain Dr Talimeran Ao.
The Dr T Ao Birth Centenary Celebration Committee is headed by former commissioner of sports Swapnil Barua as the president while member of All India Council for Sports Balendra Mohan Chakraborty is the working president. Sports Journalists Federation of India president Subodh Malla Barua is the secretary, while Bidyut Kalita is the treasurer of the committee.
The centenary celebrations will conclude at Guwahati on January 28, 2018. The committee has also resolved to erect a statue of the legendary footballer and get a postage stamp released in his hallowed memory, stated a release.
