GUWAHATI, Sept 1 - The Indian Association of Special Libraries and Information Centers (IASLIC) in association with the Assam Library Association, Assam College Librarians� Association and the Dept of Library and Information Science, GU, is organising a programme at the Lakshiram Barua Sadan here on September 14 to celebrate the 125th birth anniversary of Dr SR Ranganathan, Father of Library Science in India.

The programme will include floral tribute to Dr Ranganathan, a panel discussion titled �Revisiting Ranganathan� and open session. Prof Alaka Buragohain will coordinate the panel discussion, in which Prof NN Sharma, Prof Narendra Lahkar, Prof RK Barman, Prof SK Singh and others will participate.

The open session will be presided over by Dr JN Satpathy, president IASLIC. Rabendra Kumar Das, former commissioner and secretary, Govt of Assam will be the guest of honour.
