GUWAHATI, Sept 3 � The Bhupen Hazarika Cultural Trust, in association with Sonapur College, will be celebrating the birth anniversary of music maestro Dr Bhupen Hazarika as Somonnoy Divas, in the college campus on September 7 and 8.
Governor JB Patnaik will be the chief guest of the programme, while playwright Arun Sarma will be the distinguished guest.
The opening day�s programmes include flag hoisting, ceremonial homage to Dr Hazarika, exhibition, general meeting, release of souvenir, Bhupendra Sangeet contest and a cultural function, a press release said.
The next day will feature unveiling of Dr Hazarika�s statue by eminent artiste Lou Majaw, cultural procession, �somonnoy� (integration) meeting, felicitation to mountaineers and cultural function.
