Biplab Deb to be sworn-in as new Tripura CM on March 9

AGARTALA, March 6 - The newly-elected BJP-IPFT government is all set to be sworn in on�March 9�at the Assam Rifles ground in presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Informing this at a brief interaction with the media after meeting with Governor Tathagata Roy, Biplab Kumar Deb�on Tuesday�said that he has already received a letter of appointment as Chief Minister from the Governor.

�We have already received confirmation that the Prime Minister will attend the swearing-in ceremony�, he added.

Deb, accompanied by party general secretary Ram Madhav, �prabhari� Sunil Deodhar and Jishnu Debbarma, had called on the Governor to stake claim to form the next government.�

Earlier, the 47-year-old BJP leader was unanimously elected as party legislator leader at a meeting in presence of Union Ministers- Nitin Gadkari and Joel Oram at the state guest house.

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari announced that Tripura BJP President Deb will be the new Chief Minister while the party�s tribal leader Jishnu Debbarma will be the Deputy Chief Minister.

�On behalf of the party, I congratulate the people of the state for giving a massive mandate in favour of BJP-IPFT combine and the state will surely prosper under the new leadership�, he added.
