GUWAHATI, Nov 19 - After winning appreciation in various international film festivals, Bobby Sarma Baruah�s Sonar Baran Pakhi (The Golden Wing), a biopic on legendary folk singer Pratima Baruah Pandey, is all set to hit the silver screen on November 24.
Sonar Baran Pakhi is Bobby Sarma Baruah�s second movie after Adomya, which was also screened in more than 15 film festivals across the world.
Sonar Baran Pakhi, which chronicles the life and journey of the Padmashree award winner, has been included as an official entry to various festivals, besides winning the Grand Jury Prize for the best feature film in the 15th Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles and the Best Audience Choice Award at the 15th Dhaka International Film Festival.
The movie also depicts her deep-rooted love for folk music, including her association with legends like Dr Bhupen Hazarika.
As director, producer and scriptwriter, Bobby Sarma Baruah has a number of short films, documentaries, music videos and TV serials to her credit.
She has also served as juror at the prestigious 14th Dhaka International Film Festival and the Lucknow Children�s International Film Festival, both in 2016.
The 86-minute long movie is jointly produced by ASFFDC and BB Entertainment Private Limited.
The cast includes Pranjal Saikia, Arati Baruah and Pranami Bora in the lead.
