Biometric attendance systems stopped

By Staff Reporter

GUWAHATI, March 16 - In view of the COVID-19 threat in the country and to ensure all possible preventive measures to stop the virus from spreading, all offices in the State/institutions (both public/private)/PSUs/commercial organisations have been directed to stop use of biometric attendance systems where physical contact is required with the system to record attendance.

Stating this, an official release said that, however, any other biometric attendance system where physical contact is not required (like face recognition etc.) would continue to be used as earlier.

During this period, the attendance may be marked manually in the office registers and maintained by the head of office appropriately.

The order, issued by the Government of Assam, will remain in force till March 31.
