SILCHAR, JUNE 25: Binita Saha, Sumita Roy and Aditya Dutta, all from Silchar have brought laurels to Barak Valley by securing positions in the merit list of this year's Higher Secondary Examination conducted by the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council, the results of which were announced on Thursday.

The rank holders are from Commerce stream. While Binita stood third in the merit list with 466 marks in total from Ramanuj Gupta Junior College, her classmate from the same college bagged 9th rank with 452 marks and both wish to become Chartered Accountants.

However, one common thread that binds all three is their keen interest in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's call for Atmanirbhar Bharat by focussing on the indigenous production in the country.

"I wish our country becomes a developed nation and the call for Atmanirbhar Bharat will surely add fillip to the objective," feels Binita.

Aditya said , "Discarding Chinese products has begun and the day is not far when India will boast of its own materials. The move towards self reliance shall usher in the much needed change."

Sumita Roy, while talking to The Assam Tribune, said, "the call for atmanirbharta will open new avenues of work and help those who are willing to stand up on their own and give back to the society as well."

The rank holders shared their joy with their families and teachers and said that hard work together with constant encouragement from family and teachers helped a great deal in fulfilling their dreams.
