KOKRAJHAR, Aug 20 - The 16th death anniversary of martyr Bineswar Brahma, former president of Bodo Sahitya Sabha (BSS) and a great leader of the Bodo people was observed here with a daylong programme at Chandamari in Kokrajhar, the place where the departed leader was cremated.
The daylong programme began with the hoisting of flag by the president of Bodo Sahitya Sabha, Dr Kameswar Brahma followed by paying of homage at cremation ground of the departed soul by Puspa Rani Brahma, wife of late Bineswar Brahma.
A souvenir Subungthini Thandwi was also brought out to mark the occasion of death anniversary celebration of Bineswar Brahma. The souvenir was inaugurated by BTC Deputy Chief Kampa Borgoyary.
A discussion on the topic of life and deeds of late Bineswar Brahma was also held which was chaired by Dr Kameswar Brahma, president of Bodo Sahitya Sabha.
Doneswar Goyary, Rajib Kumar Brahma, Executive Members of BTC, UG Brahma, ex-MP Rajya Sabha and president of UPPL, ex-BSS president Brajendra Kr Brahma among others attended the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, all the leaders said that late Bineswar Brahma was a versatile man. He was known for his high thinking and his method of working. He was the most prominent among his contemporary literary works by virtue of his great qualities of head and heart. His contribution as a litterateur and a worker of the Bodo society is immense and cannot be expressed.
