NEW DELHI, Aug 8 A Bill for creation of a second house of the Assam Assembly is likely to be tabled in the Winter Session of the Parliament. Union Law Minister Kapil Sabil said this to a delegation of State Congress that called on him today.

The delegation, comprising APCC chief Bhubaneswar Kalita, RS Member Pankaj Bora and ex-MP Bishnu Prasad, urged Sibal to table the Bill in the current session. They said all documents and clarifications sought by the Centre regarding the Bill had been submitted by the State Government.

Sibal told the delegation that the papers would have to be vetted by the Law Ministry before drafting of the Bill. Then the Union Cabinet would have to approve it to facilitate its introduction in the Parliament.
