Bill Clinton to visit Akshaya Patra

GUWAHATI, July 14 - Former US President Bill Clinton is set to visit the largest kitchen of North India -- Akshaya Patra -- which is equipped with machines that are capable of cooking 2, 05,000 chapattis, six ton pulses and five ton rice all together.

Clinton is likely to come and witness the process carried by this kitchen�s members, a press release from Akshaya Patra said.

Clinton will become a part of �school lunch programme� through which one lakh and four thousands school kids are provided lunch.

Clinton is slated to focus on global health, climate change and economic development. The visit is planned from July 16 to 23. He will also visit Vietnam, Indonesia, Australia and some other countries along with India. The visit is the programme of Clinton Global Initiative Commitment to Action. This programme is associated with Akshaya Patra and Deshpandey foundation.

In Guwahati Akshaya Patra is providing meal to 53,000 children in around 600 schools every day.
