HAFLONG, Feb 27 - One Dhruv Dholakia, the rider �On a Bullet Yatra� entered Dima Hasao on Friday while on his way to Umrangso and Haflong. The young rider was welcomed by the �Highlanders�- Royal Enfield Biker Group at the gates of Dima Hasao.
Dhruv plans to visit all the 29 States of the country within 14 months and 14 days with a reason � �to motivate more youngsters to travel�. In his bid, Dhruv has now entered the beautiful district of Dima Hasao from Umrangso and plans to visit Haflong today and further proceed to Silchar.
Dhruv�s visit to the district is a big boost to tourism prospects in the Dima Hasao district as this will help further promote tourism and place the district on the national and international map. Dima Hasao has been promoting its tourism potential with the catchy slogan of Go Tribal, Go Natural, Aao Dima Hasao.
The �Highlanders� with assistance from the Assam Rifles have taken up the onus of riding along the young biker and promote his cause of spreading awareness about tourism. A simple but solemn welcome cultural programme was organized by performers from Khelma, Karbi and Khasi tribes at Umrangso for the reception of Dhruv on Friday. Dhruv was delighted and touched to see �Highlanders� make such an effort of riding all the way up to Umrangso.
