NEW DELHI, March 9 BJP MP Bijoya Chakravarty today demanded stern action against the Delhi Police officials who did not register a case in an incident of brutal attack on a student, Abrar Ahmed of Guwahati on the night of March 4.
Raising the issue in the Lok Sabha during the Zero Hour, the BJP MP said the youth was ruthlessly beaten up, as a result of which he was seriously
injured. However, she alleged, the Delhi Police has been dilly-dallying in registering an FIR and instead making excuses like asking the victim to appear before the police, when he has been admitted to hospital.
Condemning the non-cooperative attitude of the police, Chakravarty alleged that it was a regular feature in cases involving the north-easterners. She underlined the need for the police to change its mindset regarding the people from the North-east.
