DERGAON,April 16 � At the time when Bihu festivities its peak, a different type of bihu celebration has been reported here.
According to information available, a Bihu Husari troupe is performing under the banner of Pratyush group. The newly formed Pratyush Publication group has been performing Bihu Husari in the locality with traditional musical instruments. Talking to The Assam Tribune, Sanjoy Kr Hazarika, the secretary of Pratyush publication opined that they were trying to show case all the conventional Bihu components associated with Husari.
Tapan Mahanta, the publisher of the group disclosed that the funds collected from the Husari will be utilised in book publication only. The in-charge of the bihua-bihuwati as well as the Executive Editor of news based magazine monthly Pratyush published by Jogananda Khataniar revealed that he has taken utmost care of the bihua-bihuwati so that they stick to the tradition. On the other hand, overall activities of the group has been guided by noted artiste Dilip Bora, dhoolia Sanjoy Kalita along with other senior members Surendra Kr Dutta, Bharat Bora, Romesh Baruah, Biren Ch Saikia, Joga Prasad Mahanta, Rajib Hazarika, Abinash Hazarika, Sarbeswar Kalita ,Girin Bapu Baruah, Basanta Bora etc.
The local people have in the meantime showered praise on the Husari troupe and several individuals have invited the troupe to their homes for bihu presentation.
