GUWAHATI, April 24 � Like in 2009, the greater Assamese community, Washington, USA organised a Bihu celebration on 17 April in Redmond, Washington, USA, an e-mail received here said. About 70 people gathered on the occasion with a lot of Bihu snacks followed by a cultural evening.
The cultural programmes started with a chorus, Asom Aamar Rupohi. Kids performed fashion show and recitals etc. The community performed husori and a lot of other programmes. The event also included spot quiz with spot prizes.
Niribili performed flute recital of Lakhminath Bezbarua�s O�mor aponar dekh� During the programme Satyajit Nath briefed the community about adopt a child initiated by AFNA. At the the end of the cultural programme Vavani Sarmah presented a slide show presentation about Indian Cancer Care Network and the services provided in India in general and Assam in particular.
