Bihpuria-Narayanpur subdivision inaugurated

NORTH LAKHIMPUR, March 3 - The newly formed subdivision of Bihpuria-Narayanpur in Lakhimpur district was inaugurated at Chawdhapuniya by Bihpuria MLA Bhupen Borah recently.

Inaugurating the subdivision, Borah said that it was the outcome of the 30-year wait and demand of the people of Bihpuria region. He also announced the allotment of Rs 5 crore for the construction of subdivisional offices in Chawdhapuniya by Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi.

A meeting was held on the occasion at the auditorium of Bishnu-Jyoti Shilpi Samaj which was chaired by Lakhimpur Deputy Commissioner Debeswar Malakar. Speaking on that occasion, Malakar said that the district administration would extend all help and assistance in setting up of the administrative infrastructure of Bihpuria-Narayanpur subdivision.

The meeting was also attended by Lakhimpur SP Brajendrajit Singha, ADC Mauchumi Baruah, Bihpuria Revenue Circle Officer Geetali Duwarah and several other government officials, besides the general public.
