JORABAT, Jan 21 - In an initiative to bring together all the people of the Bihari Goswami community, a meeting was organised by Vishwa-Guru Shankaracharya Dasnaam Goswami Samaj at Patharquarry this afternoon ahead of its national presidents visit to Guwahati to formally form its Northeast branch here on January 28.

Around 200 people from in and around Guwahati city attended the meet, where various objectives were discussed for development of this community and to socially involve its people to serve the nation for the betterment of society.

With Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today launching a war against two evils of society child marriage and dowry system by forming a human chain with over four crore people in his state, the Goswami Community has also planned to take up this initiative to wipe out these social evils and decided to discuss this issue with its national president during his ensuing visit.

Arun Giri, who presided over todays meeting, requested people of the Goswami community from all over Northeast to take part in the January 28 meeting.
