GUWAHATI, Aug 2 - To speed up the anti-CAA movement in the State, leaders from 70 organisations under the aegis of Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) today held an emergency meeting here.

The meeting has decided to revive a united movement against the CAA by taking the support and participation of all sections of people.

Meanwhile, it also decided to start a series of protest across the State for the release of Akhil Gogoi from jail and voiced strong resentment against the draft environmental impact assessment for 2020.

Leaders of these organisations also demanded that proper compensation to the flood-hit people of Assam be provided by the State government. The speakers in the meeting also raised the need to form a new political force in the State in view of the upcoming Assembly elections.
