JORHAT, June 5 - World Cycling Day was observed here by Jorhat Cycling Community - a local bicycling club - in association with Dikh - a local socio-cultural organisation by organising a bicycle rally on Sunday morning.
Jorhat District and Sessions Judge VK Chandak flagged off the rally from Baruah Sariali and over 200 people participated in the rally by covering about 15 kms.
Dikh secretary Gaurav Borthakur said that the event was organised to promote eco-friendly means of transportation, besides achieving better health from a clean environment. Several eminent citizens were present at the flagging-off ceremony.
