SILCHAR, May 7 - In a major development, Karimganj police has launched an operation to arrest the foreigners declared by the Foreigners� Tribunals in the district.

According to sources in Karimganj police, a total of 2467 persons have been adjudged as foreigners by Foreigners Tribunal, out of which 1334 are Hindus and 1135 Muslims. Sources informed that the move came after a meeting of the senior cops was held on Monday.

On the other hand, BJP women cell national vice president Shipra Goon has said that along with BJP vice president and former MLA Mission Ranjan Das, a delegation will soon visit Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on the issue.
