Bid to motivate NCC cadets Entrepreneurship as career option

GUWAHATI, Aug 12 - A virtual Entrepreneurship Awareness Programme (EAP) conducted from July 27 by the Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE) along with the National Cadet Corp (NCC) Directorate, North Eastern Region, concluded today.

The objective of the programme, meant for the NCC cadets of the Northeast, was to create awareness among students about various facets of entrepreneurship as an alternative career option. The idea was to inculcate the fundamentals in the participants, motivate them, impart effective communication skills, make them understand the ecosystem, and help them look at entrepreneurship as a career option.

Thirty-one participants took part in the event. Out of them, five were from NCC GP HQ, Shillong, 10 from NCC GP HQ, Silchar, six from NCC GP HQ, Guwahati, and five each from NCC GP HQ Kohima and NCC GP HQ Imphal, a press release said.

During the programme, the NCC cadets were exposed to numerous topics including self-management, self-analysis and developing entrepreneurial competency through motivation, opportunities, identification and selection, need and importance of entrepreneurship as one of the career options in the changing economic scenario, effective communication skills, etc.

The sessions were conducted by faculty members of IIE and subject matter experts. The programme also facilitated interaction for the cadets with a few successful entrepreneurs of the Northeast.
