Bid to encourage plasma donation at AMCH

DIBRUGARH, Sept 9 - In an apparent bid to encourage the general public to donate plasma at Assam Medical College and Hospital here, Shree Marwari Natya Samity and Dibrugarh Press Club (DPC), in collaboration with the district administration, have come up with a significant plan to felicitate the plasma donors of the region.

The first 100 plasma donors, who will be donating the same from September 10, will be felicitated and will be given away a sum of Rs 5,000 each by the organisations � Shree Marwari Natya Samity and Dibrugarh Press Club besides a few well-wishers. It needs to be mentioned here that Makhan Gattani of Jorhat has come forward to sponsor Rs 5,000 each to the first 70 plasma donors through the organisers.

The plan was finalised on Tuesday following a meeting with Deputy Commissioner Pallav Gopal Jha and a delegation of Shree Marwari Natya Samity led by its president Kailash Bagaria, vice president Kailash Dhanuka, secretary Nirmal Garodia, Dibrugarh Press Club secretary Anil Poddar and social worker Ajit Bajaj.

Appreciating the plan, Deputy Commissioner formed a team of five members to coordinate the project led by ADC Dipu Kr Deka, District Media Expert of NHM Tufan Gogoi, DPC secretary Anil Poddar, president of Shree Marwari Natya Samity Kailash Bagaria and social worker Ajit Bajaj.

The organisers have urged upon all eligible persons to come forward to donate plasma for the cause of humanity.
