Bid to develop cricket infrastructure

GUWAHATI, June 10 - In a bid to develop cricket infrastructure in the State, the Assam Cricket Association (ACA) recently tied up with the Kamrup (Rural) district administration to utilise a portion of the Parade Ground at Amingaon.

The ACA will develop the venue as a proper cricket ground with all necessary facilities for hosting cricket matches. As a part of the initiative, ACA today started development of the ground and will also construct a cricket pavilion at the venue.

After performing rituals, ACA secretary Devajit Saikia and Superintendent of Police, Kamrup (Rural) Partha Sarathi Mahanta formally started the foundation work of the pavilion. It is expected that the pavilion and ground will be ready to host cricket matches from September this year, stated a press release.
