NALBARI, March 21: As the Nalbari district administration is completely dominated by women bureaucrats and officials in most of the departments, the district election department has taken some special measures to attract women voters in the district.

Nalbari DC Purabi Konwar, who is also the District Election Officer, said that a total of 19 polling stations in Nalbari district will be completely managed by women employees and women security personnel during polling.

A complete zone and a sector will also be managed by women officials, she said.

Konwar added that the all-women polling stations will be set up in the three Assembly segments – Nalbari, Barkhetri and Dharmapur.

The DC said it was a great challenge for the district election department to open such a huge number of women-led polling stations in the district. – Correspondent
