GUWAHATI, Sept 7 � The All Assam Students� Union (AASU) will celebrate the birth anniversary of music maestro Dr Bhupen Hazarika at a function titled �Uddipana� at Dighalipukhuripar tomorrow evening. The function will begin at 6 pm. Best singers from various colleges and universities will perform in the programme.
The cultural function will be preceded by a tribute-paying ceremony in front of the statue of the maestro at Dighalipukhuripar at 9 am. �Through this programme commemorating the birth anniversary of Dr Bhupen Hazarika, we want to pay homage to the maestro besides promoting his invaluable creations among the young generation,� AASU general secretary Tapan Gogoi said.
