Bhubaneswar assures to develop sports infrastructure in Rangiya

RANGIYA, Oct 4 - Rajya Sabha MP Bhubaneswar Kalita today clarified before the media that election for forming the new executive committee of Rangiya District Sports Association (RDSA) would be held as per the sports body�s constitution after required amendment of the constitution by the panel constituted for the purpose.

He further assured that many a complaints, both in written and verbal, were received about RDSA affairs and the role of its general secretary, which will be treated with due urgency for the sake of development of the sports sector in Rangiya.

�Every possible effort will be made for encouraging our sports persons and budding talents in sports, especially cricket. The required infrastructure development, including other necessities will be examined by the Assam Cricket Association authority,� the Rajya Sabha MP stated, adding that 40 percent new faces of young sports talents will be included in the RDSA new committee.

The MP was accompanied by Assam Olympic body office-bearers.

It may be mentioned here that a number of local bodies, including students� organisations, sports lovers etc., had all along been urging and protesting over change of the old RDSA committee with general secrerary Dilip Choudhury holding the post for several years.
