DOOMDOOMA, Aug 31 - The Bhasa Sankalpa Divas was observed by the Asam Sahitya Sabha, the apex literary body of the State, to commemorate the establishment of the Asomiya Bhasa Unnati Sadhini Sabha on that day in 1888 at Kolkata.
The Doomdooma unit of the Sabha also observed the day along with �antaranga alap� organised by the local unit of the Sabha recently. The programme started with the Sabha�s theme song Sira Senehi Mur Bhasa Janani.
The unit�s secretary Deben Deka explained the significance of the Bhasa Sankalpa Divas. The programme was chaired by the unit�s vice president Nityananda Das.
Later, the members of the unit present in the programme recited self-composed poems and read out self-composed short stories, etc. A few children also presented songs in the programme.
