GUWAHATI, Aug 31 - Additional Chief Secretary (Guwahati Development Department) MGVK Bhanu reviewed the status of building permission by the Guwahati Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) at a meeting held here on Wednesday.
The meeting was also attended by senior officials from the GDD and GMDA. Bhanu expressed his displeasure with the slow pace of disposal of building permissions by the GMDA.
He instructed the GMDA to immediately fix a public hearing on building permission every month on a fixed date.
In order to receive public grievances from the citizens and to disseminate the grievances at a fast pace, Bhanu instructed the GMDA to create Facebook and Whatsapp accounts within two days so that citizens can lodge their complaints through those accounts and instructed that every week the status report of the complaints is to be submitted to him.
Regarding building permissions and zonal regulations, Bhanu instructed the GMDA to function according to the acts and regulations.
