Bhanu Jayanti celebrated at Bandarguri

UDALGURI, July 14 - Bhanu Jayanti, which is the birth anniversary of Nepali Adikavi Bhanubhakta Acharya, was celebrated at Bandarguri LP School on July 13 with a daylong agenda.

The programme was jointly organised by the Bandarguri regional committees of Asom Nepali Sahitya Sabha, Asom Gorkha Sammelan and All Assam Gorkha Students� Union.

The function began with floral tributes to the Late poet followed by Ramayana Paath by priest Raghunath Upadhyaya and a poets� open discourse. Bhagirath Upadhyaya, a retired teacher of the region chaired the open session where Ram Upadhyaya, general secretary of Udalguri district committee of ANSS highlighted the significance of the celebration on this auspicious day.

In all, 10 talented HS and HSLC candidates were felicitated on the occasion.
