DIGBOI, Nov 10 - Creating a void among the followers of Buddhism and disciples, cutting across all barriers, Munglang Jaw Sara Bhante, popularly known as Munglang Bhante (Baba) of Ledo in Tinsukia district left for his heavenly abode here this evening at Margherita.
A popular saint known far and wide for his religious contributions, he breathed his last at a private nursing home at Margherita, where he was undergoing treatment for multiple old-age ailments.
Mugdhajyoti Mahanta, the SP of Tinsukia termed his demise as �the loss of a precious jewel.� Bhikhus, religious leaders and people from all classes including top civil, administrative, business and political spheres are thronging the vihara at Ledo where the corpse of the great spiritual leader has been kept for public view.
The day of his last rites would be decided in a meeting slated for tomorrow. The meeting would be held at the Ledo Monglang Buddhist Monastery.
