BH College golden jubilee celebration

GUWAHATI, Jan 19 - The opening ceremony of the yearlong celebration of the golden jubilee of B H College, Howly, will be held on January 22 and 23, stated a press release.

The opening ceremony will begin with the unfurling of the college flag by Principal Dr Bhushan Chandra Pathak and the golden jubilee flag will be hoisted by Paramananda Das, one of the founding fathers of the college as well as the chief president of the celebration committee.

Dr Arun Kumar Das, a founder teacher, will offer the smriti tarpan while Prof Ram Avatar Sarda, president of the celebration committee, will garland the martyrs� column.

The founder-principal of the college, Satya Nath Das, will formally inaugurate the golden jubilee stage.

Special tributes to the departed leading people, founders, donors and teachers will be paid by Dr Bhupen Das, an ex-student and retired Inspector of Schools.

The alumni meet will be inaugurated by Dr Ramendra Kumar Das, former principal of the college and a member of the NAAC peer team.

Prof Munindra Narayan Goswami, a literary pensioner and retired head of Department of English, will inaugurate the cultural function while Girija Choudhury, retired employee will light the lamps.

On January 23, the open session will be attended among others by Sarat Barkataki, Education Minister, Dr Mridul Hazarika, VC, Gauhati University, Dr Hitesh Deka, VC, KKHSOU, Sirajuddin Ajmal, MP, Barpeta, Abdur Rahim Khan, MLA, Barpeta LAC, Ranjit Kumar Das, MLA, Sarbhog LAC etc,.
