NAGAON, June 14 � The Besama festival of the Koch Rajbongshi community was held on the Nonoi Baragaya Kala Kristi Unnayan Sangha premises on Friday.
The festival began with the lighting of lamp by the Nagaon district vice president of the Koch Rajbongshi Sanmilani Biren Raja. The sanmilani flag was unfurled by president Sarat Bora and Besama flag was hoisted by its vice president Bhaba Kanta Bhuyan which was followed by the lighting of lamp at the martyrs column by general secretary Bhupen Raja.
The open session was held under the presidentship of Sarat Bora where retired professor and the State president of the Koch Rajbongshi Sahitya Sabha, Dr Dwijendra Nath Bhakat, Professor Dr Dipak Kumar Roy, Pramod Ch Barman, Prof Satyaranjan Roy, Prof Pabitra Kumar Roy, Prof Dipak Bora and others discussed the language, literature and cultural heritage of the Koch Rajbongshis.
