Bengali Hindus� citizenship woes

NEW DELHI, March 2 � Bharatiya Lok Manch, a platform of 12 organisations representing the Bengali Hindus, while referring to the ongoing National Register of Citizens (NRC) update process, has demanded resolution of the citizenship problem within this month.

A delegation of the Manch today called on Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and said that while the NRC update process had started, the Hindu Bengalis were not getting safeguard irrespective of their citizenship status. �We trusted only the BJP because it was the only political party that expressed sympathy to the migrated Hindu Bengalis and promised to protect them,� the delegation pointed out.
