BARPETA, Sept 20 � The 566th birth anniversary of Srimanta Sankardeva will be celebrated at Belbari Satra with a four day-long programme from October 2 to 5 next. This was informed by Madhusudhan Thakuria, president of 566th Guru Jayanti Celebration Committee Belbari Satra.
The programme will start with the erection of the Bhagawat on the altar at 5 pm on October 2 followed by lighting of lamps, Prasanga and Gurucharit Path.
After the morning prayers on October 3, the religious flag will be hoisted at 8 am by Manikanta Deka, president Srimanta Sankardev Kala Parishad Belbari Satra. Tribute to the great soul will be offered by Madhusudhan Thakuria president of the celebration committee. A procession with the Bhagawat will be taken out at around 9 am which will be followed by Nam Prasanga.
