BCPL-AGCL MoU On Natural Gas Supply and Service

DULIAJAN, Jan 24: Brahmaputra Cracker and Polymer Limited (BCPL) and Assam Gas Company Limited (AGCL) inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on January 19 for the supply of natural gas.

The two profitable PSUs inked the MoU to supply natural gas from Golaghat to BCPL Lakwa plant through a 125-kilometre long pipeline.

The MoU was signed by Pranjal Changmai, General Manager, BCPL and Manuj Kumar Baruah, Deputy General Manager, Gas Marketing Business Department, AGCL in presence of Reep Hazarika, Managing Director, BCPL, Gokul Chandra Swargiyari, Managing Director, AGCL, Prithvi Raj Das, Finance Director, BCPL, Rakesh Kumar Singh, Chief Executive Officer, BCPL and other higher officials from BCPL and AGCL at the BCPL headquarters at Lepetkata, Dibrugarh.

According to information, to supply 2,30,000 cubic meters of natural rich gas per day from Golaghat to Lakwa, the 125-kilometre long pipeline was constructed with a project cost of Rs 271 crore.

Before inking the agreement, both BCPL and AGCL have concluded a joint feasibility study on the project and the preliminary consequences have seemed practicable for both the PSUs, informed Manuj Kumar Baruah.
