BCCI secretary visits Sonari

SONARI, March 2 - In a bid to develop the game in this part of the country, BCCI acting secretary Amitabh Chaudhary today visited Sonari and discussed the possibility of setting up an exclusive cricket stadium here.

This is for the first time that a BCCI official has visited the town. Chaudhary, in his discussion with Charaideo DC Bibekananda Phukan, assured all possible support as well as financial assistance, if the authorities concerned allots land for the construction of an exclusive cricket ground here. Phukan as well as Sonari MLA Tapan Gogoi expressed their satisfaction regarding the visit of the BCCI secretary. �We feel proud that the BCCI is looking forward towards setting up a cricket stadium here,� Gogoi said. The MLA also stated that they are very much ready to provide the required plot of land.

Assam Cricket Association secretary Pradip Buragohain said that the BCCI is very much concerned regarding the development of the game in the region.
