BCCI Orientation Workshop

GUWAHATI, July 2 - The finance department of the BCCI organised a day-long orientation course on financial management and accounting procedure for treasurers, accountants, auditors and other officials of all the Northeastern State cricket associations here today.

The BCCI team of four officials was headed by Chief Financial Officer Santosh Rangnekar along with A Uttamani, R Mehrotra and N Khanna. Altogether 23 delegates from the eight States attended the course.

Manindra Nath Saikia, treasurer, Assam Cricket Association (ACA) welcomed the resource persons and delegates while ACA secretary Pradip Buragohain gave a brief overview of the course. He also felicitated the resource persons in a traditional way.

Rangnekar in his address explained the outline of the course and the importance of proper financial discipline and adhering to the laid down BCCI norms and guidelines which has to be adopted henceforth, particularly by NADP States who are likely to become permanent member soon. He also assured everyone of all assistance and guidance at any time in future.

Naba Bhattacharjee, secretary, Meghalaya Cricket Association and NADP member of BCCI stressed on the need to inculcate the habit of strict financial and accounting procedure since managing of finance adopting transparent procedure is a challenge in the coming days for NADP States, stated an ACA release.
