Batradrava Than ready to celebrate Doul Mahotsav

NAGAON, March 18 - With a five-day-long agenda, Sri Krishna Doul Mahotsav will be held at Batradrava Than, the birth place of the great saint of the soil and the introducer of �Nava Vaishnava� movement in the State, Srimanta Sankardeva from March 20 to March 25. The managing committee of the Batradrava Than has already completed almost all its preparations for the festival.

According to sources of the Than, the managing committee of the Than, is ready this time to receive five lakh �Vaishnava� devotees as well as other people from the State and abroad. The sources however stated that during the festival, all traditional rituals which have been continuing over the years since many years, will be followed as usual and cultural functions will also be held every evening on the temporary stage set up on the bank of �Akashi Ganga� in the Than. The district administration as well as the police administration of Nagaon have taken all kinds of measures including security, traffic and others, to make the festival successful.

Our Jagiroad Correspondent adds: Along with the rest of the country, this year also Jagi Bor-khel will organise the Doul Utsav, popularly known as �Fakuwa�, the festival of colours at the Auniati Sakha Satra, situated at the historic Jagi Bor-naamghar under Mayong Circle from March 20 with a four-day long event.
