Basanta Utsav at Howraghat on April 25

DIPHU, April 20 � Brisk preparations are on to celebrate Basanta Utsav at Howraghat town on April 25 with different cultural events.

The Sarbajanin Basanta Utsav patronised by Kharsing Engti, HAD Minister and Premala Beypi, executive member of KAAC, will be held at Howraghat Pan Engti playground from the morning of April 25 with different colourful programmes.

As per the programme chalked out by the organisers, the Utsav will begin at 8 am with hoisting of the Utsav flag by Kaja Terang, president of the Sarbajanin Basanta Utsav reception committee. Smriti tarpan will be initiated at 9 am by Biren Bora, working president of the Sarbajanin Basanta Utsav celebration reception committee.

Various traditional games will be held from 10 am onwards. In the morning at 11 am, traditional cultural programmes of various indigenous tribal communities will be held and it will be inaugurated by Deuri Lekhthe, chairman of Howraghat Town Committee. Premala Beypi, local MAC and EM of the Social Welfare Department of KAAC will be present as the chief guest of the function.

Besides, Shanta Rongpi, president of Karbi Jutang Chingthur Amei, Howraghat regional, Ashok Hasnu, president of Dimasa Sanskriti Samaj, Howraghat, Dipen Basumatary, president of Dularai Boro Harimu Afad, Karbi Anglong district unit, Medini Mohan Saikia, general secretary of All Karbi Anglong Asomiya Bhashik Sanstha, Priyaranjan Majumdar, president of Karbi Anglong Zila Jatiya Mancha, Amrit Sahu, president of Tea Cell, Karbi Anglong district unit and Kartik Dekaraja, president of Tiwa Sanskritik Samaj, Diphu region, will attend the function as special guests.

Various cultural programmes on the theme �Bohagor Enisha� will begin from 7 pm onwards and it will be inaugurated by Tuliram Ronghang, chief executive member of KAAC. Kharsing Engti and Bidyasing Rongpi, executive member of KAAC will attend as chief guest and special guest respectively. Besides, all EMs and MACs of KAAC will attend the function as guests of honour.
