GUWAHATI, June 26 � Chief convenor of the steering committee of the Sanmilita Jatiya Abhibartan (SJA) Dr Hiren Gohain today said that they have very little to say on the reaction of ULFA Commander-in-Chief Paresh Barua to their effort to resolve the vexed ULFA insurgency issue. However, he. described the reaction of ULFA Commander-in-Chief Paresh Barua to their effort as �entirely negative.�
Talking to this newspaper, Dr Gohain said, � We are sorry that it is an entirely negative reaction. But we do not believe that by following a line of action different from that of the PCG, we are making a big mistake. Only time will say, which line is going to be more effective in preserving the identity of the Assamese.�
On the question of their (SJA) credibility raised by Barua, Dr Gohain said that the SJA team includes educationists, social workers, writers and upright administrators, who had rendered some service to the people of Assam in their respective fields.
�If some one thinks that this is not service to the cause of Assam�s progress and welfare, we have nothing to say,� said Dr Gohain.
