Barpeta Civil Hospital shifted to Kalgachia

KALGACHIA, Feb 25 � The Barpeta Civil Hospital, which was shifted here by the State Health department, was formally inaugurated recently by the Barpeta Deputy Commissioner Fanidhar Kalita and the ribbon to its entrance was cut by Jania MLA Abdul Khaleque. While opening the 200-bed hospital, the Deputy Commisioner appealed to all sections of people to cooperate with the doctors and employees of the hospital in running it smoothly, avoiding all conflict. He also urged the people to keep the hospital clean by considering it as their own.

On the other hand, Jania MLA Abdul Khaleque, praising Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi, Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and Barpeta DC Fanidhar Kalita, said that it is because of their kind consideration that the people of Jania got the hospital which must play an important role in treating the rural people from the remote corners of the entire west Barpeta area. Attending the ceremony, ex-APSC member and veteran Congress leader M Mozammel Hussain remarked that establishing a civil hospital at Kalgachia would certainly fulfil the aspirations of the people of Jania, Baghbar and entire west Barpeta area. The people assembled on the occasion were also addressed by the Joint Director, Barpeta district Health Services.

It needs mention here that the activities at the hospital would start at the Kalgachai Community Health Centre and the Government would soon release funds to provide adequate facilities and for construction of buildings.

The opening programme was conducted by Dr Hashmot Ali, officer in-charge, Kalgachia CHC and the felicitation programme was conducted by Nazirul Islam.
