DIBRUGARH, April 22 - Barpathar Gaon Panchayat under Barbaruah block in the district has been awarded with the national award along with 30 other recipients from other States and Union Territories of the country.
The Gaon Panchayat was adjudged for the �Child-friendly Gram Panchayat Award 2020�, a release stated. Ministry of Panchayati Raj, Government of India has been incentivizing the best performing panchayats.
Keeping in view that the basic component of social development is creating a conducive atmosphere for the healthy growth and development of children, the award Child-friendly Gram Panchayat Award (CFGPA) was announced for best performing Gram Panchayats (GPs)/Village Councils (VCs) (one in each State/UT) for adopting child-friendly practices, a release stated.
