Barak Valley BJP MLAs promise development

BADARPUR, May 21 - The Bharatiya Janata Party has won eight seats in Barak Valley. Its candidates in Patharkandi, Ratabari, Silchar, Barkhala, Katigorah, Sonai, Dhalai and Udharband LACs Kripanath Malah, Krishnendu Paul, Dilip Kumar Paul, Kishore Nath, Amar Chand Jain, Animul Haque Laskar, Parimal Suklabaidya and Mihir Kanti Shom respectively, defeated heavyweight candidates of the Congress party in the Valley.

Immediately after the announcement of the election results officially, these newly-elected BJP MLAs, while talking to this correspondent, expressed happiness at havindg defeated the heavyweight ministers and MLAs. In an exclusive interview, these MLAs promised to work unitedly for the development of the entire Barak Valley, where there will be no corruption at all. They said that the people of the Valley have given a verdict in favour of �good rule� and a �corruption-free� Government, which they are duty-bound to follow.

The MLAs said that their party, the BJP, has come to power in the State for the first time. The people of the State wanted a �change�, and the change has come, they said with the Congress biting the dust. In reply to another question, they said, that they will keep a keen eye on every burning issue of the Valley and try unitedly to solve these problems and hence they will not tolerate corruption at all. Dilip Kumar Paul said that �If I become a Minister, then the all-round greater development of Karimganj, Cachar and Halakandi districts, following Prime Minister Modi's ideals and principles will be given top priority, and all work would be done in consultation with our leaders Sarbananda Sonowal and Himanta Biswa Saarma�.

It is to be mentioned here that with the AIUDF getting four seats from the Barak Valley, the Congress was uprooted from here. The sitting MLA of Badarpur LAC Jamal Uddin Ahmed has also maintained his winning streak for the third time, defeating the AIUDF candidate Abdul Ajij.
