BADARPUR, Sept 25 � The 12-hour Barak bandh called by the BG Implementation Movement Committee passed off peacefully here. All schools and colleges, educational institutions, various departmental offices of the Railways and the civil administration, markets and shops, bank and post offices, etc. were closed. All vehicles were off the roads. Train services from Badarpur to the rest of the valley and Tripura were totally cut off. The aim of the bandh was to press for the early completion of the ongoing Silchar-Badarpur-Lumding gauge conversion works.

Karimganj district administration sources said the bandh was totally peaceful.
