NAGAON, Aug 13 - Acting on a tip-off, the Nagaon Haiborgaon police held an Innova car loaded with narcotic drugs near Nagaon Khutikotia Chariali when the consignment was being carried on the car from Guwahati to Nagaon.
Subsequently, police were able to arrest one youth while another managed to escape. Later, police also seized more than ten cartons of narcotic drugs from inside the car.
According to sources, the arrested youth has been identified as Basanta Bania from Narengi in Guwahati.
Sources claimed that when the Innova vehicle bearing registration number AS-01-GC-9848 was approaching Khutikotia Chariali, a police team intercepted it but one of the youths who was on the car immediately got out and fled from the spot.
Meanwhile, police registered a case in this regard and further investigation is on.
