SILCHAR, May 7 - A bid to commit dacoity at the United Bank of India at Lakhipur here was foiled due to vigilance of the employees, on Thursday.
According to sources, five youths entered the bank as customers. During lunch hour, one of the youths tried to snatch the cash box of the bank and run away. But employees of the bank pulled down the main shutter of the bank and foiled the attempt. According to police, one of the five youths was arrested.
Barman assured that he would take up all major issues with the Chief Minister for their permanent solution.
