SILCHAR, Oct 17 - Based on secret inputs, Cachar Police laid an ambush and apprehended a Bangladeshi national from Japhirbandh area here recently. Two other local aides were also nabbed, police said.
Cachar SP Mughdyajyoti Deb Mahanta informed mediapersons that the arrested Bangladeshi national has been identified as Samsul Alam, a resident of Afsarbad Colony under Dinajpur district of Bangladesh. Also, 34 tubes containing white powder and one packet of 3.30 gram suspected heroin have been recovered from his possession, Deb Mahanta informed.
Further, the aides who were arrested from Nagatilla area in another operation have been identified as Sahanur Hussain Borbhuiya and Sirajul Haque Laskar, both residents of Sonai constituency. Cash of Rs 39,000 was recovered from them, the SP added.
�The arrested Bangladeshi national and others have been taken into four day custody and interrogation is under way,� Deb Mahanta said.
